Oudtshoorn Municipality Temporarily Unblocks Poor Households during the Festive Season

mun logoOudtshoorn, 22 December 2015 – The Administrator of the Oudtshoorn Municipality, Mr. Kam Chetty has, as a gesture of goodwill, decided to unblock all poor households owing money for services for the duration of the festive season.

All poor households whose electricity is currently blocked will get a temporary relief as their electricity supply will be unblocked from Tuesday, 22 December 2015 till 5 January 2016.

Non-poor blocked households are urged to pay their accounts that were due on 10 December 2015 to have their electricity unblocked and reconnected. Payments can be made at any of the following outlets: Shoprite, Checkers, Pick ‘n Pay, Pep Stores, Woolworths and Spar or electronic bank payment.

The Municipality has made arrangement with staff to unblock and reconnect paying consumers during the festive season. Consumers are therefore requested to submit proof of payment to the Oudtshoorn Municipal Control Room which is situated at the Eden District Municipality’s offices at Voortrekker Road to reconnect their blocked electricity.

The Administrator wishes to congratulate all responsible consumers that are paying their accounts in time and would furthermore encourage all households to constantly pay their municipal services on or before 10th of each month to demonstrate good citizenship.

Oudtshoorn Munisipaliteit Deblokkeer Tydelike Huishoudings tydens die Fees Seisoen

Oudtshoorn, 22 Desember 2015 - Die Administrateur van die Oudtshoorn Munisipaliteit, mnr Kam Chetty het besluit as 'n gebaar van welwillendheid, om alle arm huishoudings wie geld verskuldig is aan die munispaliteit vir dienste sal vir die duur van die feestyd aangeskakel word.

Alle arm huishoudings wie se elektrisiteit tans geblokkeer is sal 'n tydelike verligting kry, hul elektrisiteitstoevoer sal gedeblokkeerd word vanaf Dinsdag 22 Desember 2015 tot 5 Januarie 2016.

Nie-arm huishoudings wie se rekeninge nog nie betaal was op 10 Desember 2015, word aangemoedig om hul uitstaande rekeninge op datum te bring sodat hul elektrisiteit toevoer gedeblokkeer en heraangesluit word. Betalings kan gemaak word by enige van die volgende kanale: Shoprite, Checkers, Pick 'n Pay, Pep Stores, Woolworths en Spar of elektroniese bank betaling.

Die Munisipaliteit het ‘n reëling met die personeel om verbruikers wie se rekening betaal is tydens die fees seisoen te deblokkeer en heraangesluit. Verbruikers word dus versoek om bewys van betaling by die Oudtshoorn Munisipale Beheerkamer in te dien wat geleë is by die kantore van die Eden Distriksmunisipaliteit in Voortrekkerweg.

Die Administrateur wil graag alle verantwoordelike verbruikers gelukwens wat hul rekeninge betyds betaal en verder alle huishoudings aanmoedig om voortdurend hul munisipale rekeninge te betaal voor of op die 10de van elke maand om goeie burgerskap te demonstreer.
